Arthur’s Pass National Park, New Zealand

As my time on the road in New Zealand came to an end, I spent the last night exploring Arthur’s Pass as I made my way from the West Coast to Christchurch. The area was stunning, as is every inch of the South Island I’ve come to realize. Glacier fed rivers snaked the lush valleys along the way to the pass. And that pass was no joke! I felt like my van barely made it up the steep grades, but the views from the top were breathtaking.

I spent the last night of my trip freedom camping in the most serene and remote site i’ve ever experienced. After a swim in the stream below my camp, I cooked dinner and enjoyed one last sunset on the road.
